Light Dory

Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2000

I have written Mr. Payson about the Light Dory I built from his plans. I have attached a couple of shots of her.

Here is a brief description of her composition: 3/8" A/C fir hull, (1/2" bottom) Fir stem Oak transom frame, sheer frames, foot cleats, oar lock base, and breast hook. Mahogany chine, gunwale's, inwales, skeg, and seat trim. All joints epoxied and screwed. The dolly is made out of pressure treated stock, gas pipe, and a special thanks to my daughter for donating her bicycle wheels (she wanted an upgradeanyway!)

I walk my Dory to a lake down the street...next season she finds the sea. Special thanks to Mr. Payson for his inspiration. I just received the plans from Mr. Payson for my next project....Cape Ann sailing dory.

I will keep you posted with updates and photo's.

Best regards.

Derek Gavin
